The Mille Miglia Collection
State of Art has strong connections with ‘la corsa più bella del mondo’, the Mille Miglia. State of Art participates in the rally every year with a continuously changing team. Besides, State of Art has been a chief sponsor since 2007 and every year introduces the official clothing line, the Mille Miglia collection.State of Art knows the route from Brescia to Rome and vice versa like the back of its hand. State of Art has been officially associated with the event for many years. Its first year as a chief sponsor in 2007 was a logical step for the organisation, following a long history as an exceptionally great enthusiast of the rally.
When the Brescia Automobile Club decided to re-establish the Mille Miglia Cup in 1977 and organise a new edition after 20 years, Albert Westerman was 34 years old. His passion for classic races and classic Porsches was rekindled when the most beautiful race in the world was held again. Throughout the years, his commitment to the sport increased, which led to the establishment of the State of Art brand in 1987. As the brand grew, the ties with the Mille Miglia grew stronger accordingly. In 1999, it finally happened: Albert Westerman drove the blue Porsche 550 Spyder 1500 RS from 1955 in the Mille Miglia as a racing driver for the first time. A great experience that was very moreish, as well as an excellent result into the bargain. When this dream had come true, the next opportunity presented itself: making State of Art clothing for this great race. In 2007, this dream came true with the chief sponsorship. State of Art could use its expertise, developing timeless quality clothing for the official Mille Miglia clothing line targeted at those actively living life to the full. From then on, Team State of Art has appeared at the start every year, each year with a larger team of talented drivers and enthusiastic prominent people
